Why Cuernavaca?
Cuernavaca is the capital of the state of Morelos in central Mexico, popularly known as the "City of Eternal Spring" due to its pleasantly warm climate year-round, with rainy season from June to October. It is located approximately 75 kilometers (50 miles) from Mexico City, and is easily accessible from the capital via a comfortable four-line highway surrounded by great natural beauty.
Long a favorite spot for vacations or weekend getaways by Mexico City residents, Cuernavaca is a city of luxurious homes with lush lawns and pools, with upscale dining, shopping and hotels. This is nothing new: Mexicans have been coming to this area since the time of the Aztecs. The Aztec emperors were transported on their thrones from the center of Mexico City (or Tenochtitlán as it was known then) to what is now Cuernavaca.
The magic and culture that date back centuries have made Cuernavaca the ideal vacation destination for both national and international tourists, and anyone who enjoys the natural beauty of its flora and fauna, the fascinating nearby archeological sites, and lovely Colonial-style plazas and buildings.
